Balloon Adventures Gift Card Holder

balloonadventuresgiftcardholderb

I'm excited to share with you the Balloon Adventures Gift Card Holder.

I originally created this project for Bella's Bundle #2 ... but I wasn't sure if a Gift Card Holder was considered a card or a 3D project ... feel free to leave me a comment and let me know what you think!!

I used the Balloon Adventures Bundle ... with the Balloon Bouquet Punch and the Classic Label Punch.

To make this Gift Card Holder you need a piece of Pacific Point card stock that measures 4-1/4 x 11.  That means you get two out of one sheet of card stock.

I decorated the Gift Card Holder with the Party Animal Designer Series Paper and although this pack of paper wasn't my first choice in the Occasions Catalog, I have grown to love it!  In fact you'll see it again tomorrow on Paper & Ink Sketches #14!

My assistant

I'd like to introduce Lesli as my new assistant as Laura is headed back to work full time at our local school district.  I will miss her greatly!! But we have become close friends with a lot in common (like Royals baseball and Taco Republic) and we'll be staying in touch.  The only change you'll see is we're giving Lesli a new email address and for those that it will affect (like Stamp Club Online, Chics Paper Ink & Chic Rewards) we'll notify you.

Here's a note from Laura.... I have absolutely treasured my time here at Chic n Scratch working for Angie (who I feel is more like a sister and dear friend of mine rather than a boss) as well as serving you all over the last 3+ years! I have loved getting to know you all and share in many of your lives!  I’m looking forward to helping Angie box up the next Bella’s Bundles #2 and getting the updates on how you all are doing! *Hugs*, Laura

Email

Lately, there has been an overwhelming amount of people that are NOT receiving my emails.  On more than one occasions I've been told "I'm glad your back".... yikes I didn't go anywhere!  To solve this issue.... let's try two things, check your spam or trash folder.  Some email providers send my emails straight to spam.  Try adding my email address to your Contacts (within your email) and that should help the problem.   But, it still might be a good idea to look in your spam folder once or twice a week.   Here's my email address ....

Thanks for another great idea. Gift card holder are more a card.

  2. Shirley Jacobs

    I consider it a 3D item.

  3. Sandy Perry

Great idea for a Gift card but I think of it as just a card not a 3D project.
Angie are you going to do the Chic membership like you did a few years ago? Loved being a member of that ? Also are you not doing the PP projects anymore for your PP subscribers?

    • Angie

Hey Sandy, I have Stamp Club Online that’s a membership site, you can join by either placing orders or purchase a 3 month membership. I post five videos a month and we’re on our fourth year :) Yes, I’m still doing the PP projects for subscribers (the holidays were crazy and I had to skip December). The next email will go out on Feb 5th (the projects are darling this month!!!).

  4. Evelyne Carlen

Love the card holder. I consider it a card.

  5. Tandara Smith

What a wonderful idea. It can be used for so many different occasions just changing the paper and sentiment. Because it is flat, I think it would be a card. Thanks for sharing.

  6. Margaret Francis

Love the gift card. You always get me inspired
. This is the first time I wrote I .

    Thank you

  7. Lisa

Thank you I was just looking for a gift card holder and I love this one. I do think it is 3D.

  8. Peggy Provoost

Love the DSP awesome gift card holder! Thanks so much Angie Peggy

  9. Lisa M Sylvia

Very cute project. I think it’s more of a card than a 3D project because it isn’t in dimension, I would say. A card and a gift in one. Welcome to Lesli :) Laura, you will be missed. Wish you the best of everything :)

  10. Lisa Vanderlaan

Thank you for this I was just looking for a gift card holder. I love this one.easy to make and change up.I do think it’s a 3D.

  11. Faith Marlowe

Love the gift card holder. Great layout!

  12. Michele Stegall

Cute easy and quick project today. Love it! It classifies as a 3D project in my opinion.

  13. JEAN STAYTON

Love it, fabulous gift card hold
    Its a card

  14. Kimberly Betos

Very cute! I would consider it a card since it’s flat. I like Pacific Point…a color I often overlook. Thanks!

  15. Jennifer Newell

Cute gift card holder. Bright and cheery. I would consider it a card. Thanks for sharing.

  16. Jenny Sieman

Cute and fun. Hard to say, leaning 3d. Welcome Lesli. Best wishes Laura.

  17. Geri

Very cute project! I think this gift card holder would qualify as a card because it could fit into a regular envelope (which is flat for mailing).

    Best wishes to you, Laura!

  18. Becky Flammang

Love the gift card holder, Angie! I consider it a card. Love its versatility that can be adapted to any occasion. I will definitely be making lots of these!

  19. Dolores North

That is very cute. Love it. Thanks for all your inspiration.

  20. Mary Kay Harman

Love the gift card holder. It would be a good one to use for a man. Thanks

  21. Linda Mohler

This project is just adorable, and I love the colors! I think of it as a 3D project because I wouldn’t send it through the mail. I don’t trust snail mail with money and gift cards. You could put a message in the slot where the gift card is though and use it that way. Super cute!

  22. Mary K

I think a gift card holder is kind of a 3D item. In any event, this is such a pretty, colorful project! Love it – and I’m going to try to make one with a Valentine’s design…

  23. Marge Webster

Cute card holder. I think of the gift card holder as a card.

  24. Mary J Thompson

Angie, i absolutely love this gc holder! Yes, i consider it a 3d project! Love the dsp ..stamp set and thinlits!! Can’t wait to order Bella’s bundle #2!! You are so crafty!! ???

  25. Deb Y

I always considered gift card holders as 3 D projects. Either way I love this one. I’ll be making some of these for sure!
    Thanks Angie :)

  26. Mary J Thompson

Laura, you were great! Always responded very quickly!! You will be missed very much! Good luck to you!

    Welcome Lesli!!

  27. Kathy Wolfe

You make the cutest gift card holders and cards. Easy to follow directions. I consider gift card holders a 3-D project. Thanks for such good info.

  28. Chris R. from Iowa

A card or 3D, whichever, I love it! I would lump it in the 3 D category. I had not noticed that stamp about “open me already” and had to smile – that is so fun! Fun colors to use as well. I will be making these!

  29. Teresa Sather

Welcome Lesli! Laura … you did an AWESOME job and it was always easy to work with you. I really appreciated your help on several occasions. Best to you as you move forward.

  30. Rhonda Savage

Super cute gift card holder! I definitely consider it a 3-D project
    Best wishes Laura!

  33. LINDA

Love the gift card holder made from scratch and not just another die! Thank you, your videos are always so well done. This project could be either – if you present it in an envelope, it’s a card. If not, a project. Thanks for a chance to win the kit.

  34. Madeline McPhail

I agree with Linda if in an envelope a card or given as is a 3D project. Your videos are always wonderful and you don’t mind showing you are human and make mistakes like the rest of us crafters. Thank you for all your projects.

  35. Denise Bryant

Love this color combo and the way the gift card slides into the card! Awesome project!

  36. Edna Alberty

Edna Alberty Thank you for sharing. I consider it a card.

  37. Edna Alberty

  38. Brown Tammie

  39. Vicky Blackwell

I will definitely be caseing this for my son’s 21st birthday this weekend! I would consider a gift card holder a card.

  40. Kathy O

Love gift card ideas. I really love the colors too!

  41. Michelle

Love the color so bright and cheerful I really like smiles.

  42. Julie McMillin

Love this!! So hard to say whether it’s a card or 3D project. If I had to pick, I’d say card. Since it’s basically flat with no “sides”, I think it’s more 2D, not 3D – unless you define 3D as Definitely Darling Design!!

  43. Vickie Morris

    Always looking for gift cards!

  44. Vickie Morris

Cute card! Like the color of the paper.

  45. Mary Stolaas

Very cute gift card holder. It can be a card or a 3-D project. The person receiving it won’t argue with what it’s called as long as the gift card is there. LOL. I haven’t used Pacific Point in like forever. I will have to pull it out again. Really nice simple project.

  46. Pam Schweitzer

Nice gift card holder, like the colors. I think of a gift card holder as a card.

  47. Teresa Scott

Angie, that is just so cute i will be making some of those,

Angie, thank you for all of your great ideas and the time and effort you put into your work.
    Have a nice night.

  49. Patti

I love the card. I consider it a card not 3D. You always have such fun ideas.

  50. Cindy

love the colors& the paper ….Pacific Point is beautiful!!
I would consider it a card

  51. Diana

That turned out so cute! I’d lean toward calling it a 3D project, only because I wouldn’t consider it a card. But no matter what you call it, it’s adorable, nad I can’t wait to make one :)

  52. Sue LD

Very cute design. I guess I consider it a 3D item.

  53. Chris Boyer

  57. Tammy Millette

I love this gift card holder, it is just the inspiration I needed for a friend that was looking for some Easter gift card holders. Thank you so much. Ps, I consider it a 3-D project.

  58. ninam.m.

  59. Buffy Scott

Angie, I really love this gift card holder!! I love that it is for a female or a male. I really love the colors you used!! I would consider this project a 3D project. Thank you for your projects.

I never had to deal with your assistant, but I do wish her all the luck in the world!! I have heard a bit about her, through you, and she seems like an extraordinary person and I am sure you are going to miss her like crazy. Many thoughts and much happiness goes out to her and her new job!!

I also hope Lesli brings you just as to the table as Laura did. Good Luck Angie!!!

    Sincerely, Buffy

  60. Crystal B

I would categorize this amazing creation as a 3-D project.

  61. meghan

Love the card holder. I consider it a card.

  62. Deepa M.

Love this project! I would consider it a 3D project rather than a card, even though it’s flat. Welcome Lesli! Good Luck Laura – you will be missed :)

  63. Mary Champlin

Super sweet gift card holder! I think it could be considered both a 3-D and a card! Thanx for sharing!

  64. Tracy Sperling

I Love The Gift Card Holder. It Cause Be A Card Also. TFS

  65. Sheila Klimas

Because it has the pocket…I’d consider it 3D…love the idea…need to make up a batch in lots of patterns…and be ready for gifting. thanks for all you create and share. I love this site.

  70. RAQUEL

Angie this is so pretty-love the bright colors. Thanks.

Lesli welcome to Chic n Scratch-Angie is awesome-you will enjoy helping her and at the same time having fun!

  71. Judy P.

Great “happy” card for acknowledging an occasion. I consider it a card – having some 3-D-ness does not necessarily take it out of the card category. Case in point – had you used the pop-up element of the same thinlit set, it would have been more dimensional, but we would not be debating if it were a card or not. Functionally – I would be using it as the card – that is, I would not be making another card to go with it. plus – it appears as if there is a second pocket behind the one where you placed the gift card, where one could add further greetings, well-wishes, etc.

  72. Teri

Angie, my thought is that if a project fits into an envelope, I consider it a card. That’s just the way I light to categorize things. Whatever it is, I LOVE it. I appreciate you sharing your creativity with us. You are always a sunny part of my day!

  73. Sharon Canter

Another cute project as always! Thanks for this great tutorial of what I would consider both 3-D and a card!

  74. Janice

As always your designs are super…thank you for sharing
    jman4@Comcast.net

  75. Tammy Hanson

Love gift card holders. Definitely 3D in my opinion. Such a versatile item. Change the colors, change the patterned paper for any occasion.

  76. Tina

So cute. I love this stamp set and framelits!
